It is with great regret that we have had to announce that it has been necessary to close the Community Cancer Centre (CCC) at 18A Fairfield Road, Yiewsley. There are a number of factors that have brought this about, but probably, the most relevant has been the difficulty in generating income, on a sustainable basis to cover the costs of running the Centre.

Over the last twenty years, CCC has provided so many individuals and families affected by cancer with help, support and services which have helped them through their cancer journey, and we know that many will be greatly disappointed to hear of the closure.

It is important to recognise that the services we have provided have often been innovative, and not necessarily available elsewhere within the community through the NHS or other organisations, and they have been delivered by Bren’s team of committed employees and volunteers to whom we owe a great deal of gratitude.
This sad news is however to be balanced against some good news. We have had discussions with Harlington Hospice who have agreed to offer many of the services we have been able to deliver, to local residents, and they hope to extend their wellbeing services throughout the borough. Anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis who feels they may benefit from the many services we have provided should telephone 0208 759 0453 for more information.

Finally, we offer a word of thanks to all of you who have supported the work that has been carried out at the Centre since it began twenty years ago.
